Checkers and Rally’s select RTIconnect for food and labor cost controls

Citing quick-service experience, focus and usability, Checkers endorses RTIconnect back office software for Food, Labor, and Cash control in their corporate restaurants and recommends it to their franchisees.

ATLANTA — Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc., the nation’s largest chain of double drive-thru restaurants and parent company of both Checkers® and Rally’s® concepts, has selected RTIconnectsoftware for its back office in its 252 corporate restaurants. The Tampa-based chain has committed to implementing RTIconnect in all its corporate locations by first quarter of 2010. Checkers also announced that it is recommending the software to its franchisees for their nearly 590 restaurants.

Designed by Restaurant Technology, Inc. (RTI), RTIconnect is an Internet-based back office system that is geared specifically to the quick-service and fast-casual restaurant markets. In the Checkers corporate restaurants, RTIconnect interfaces with the existing Aloha® POS software for seamless integration of data into Checkers corporate accounting, payroll and reporting systems.

After evaluating several major restaurant back office solutions, Checkers began a pilot program with RTI in late 2008. The pilot concluded successfully at the end of May and coincided with an announcement to franchisees at the Checkers/Rally’s National Convention in Las Vegas that RTIconnect was the recommended back office solution for Checkers/Rally’s franchisees.

Mr. Noyes said RTIconnect will replace Checkers’ internally developed back office program, which has been supported by the corporate office for a number of years. “We are a restaurant company focused on delivery of outstanding execution for our guests and our Franchisees.
