Three Major Foodservice Distributors Join RTI to Provide Electronic Ordering to Restaurants

PFG, SYSCO Foods, and CDI Foods become RTI Supply Chain Partners, improving ordering efficiency for their quick-service restaurant clients.

ATLANTA — RTI (Restaurant Technology, Inc.), a leading provider of Web-based restaurant back office systems, announced today that three major foodservice distributors have recently joined forces with the software company to provide electronic ordering capabilities to their restaurant clients.

PFG (Performance Food Group), SYSCO, and CDI Foods were added this quarter as new RTI Supply Chain Partners. Their participation allows their restaurant clients to download electronic order guides—their product lists—into the restaurant’s RTIconnect back office software, and then transmit their foodservice orders via the Internet.

Many restaurants place orders and receive deliveries two or more times a week, and distributors routinely change products and product packaging. Using RTIconnect’s electronic order guides feature, the restaurants can now ensure that their inventory item numbers, as well as pricing and unit-of-measure information, stay in sync with their distributor.

Each time the distributor updates its product list, the updates are sent electronically to RTI. Then using this information, the RTIconnect back office software can let restaurant managers know immediately if an item is discontinued or repackaged in a different measurement, or if new items are added. Keeping restaurant inventory item lists in sync with those of the distributor also helps the restaurant operator maintain any available eOrdering discounts.

RTI Supply Chain Partners now include: CDI Foods, COI Foodservice, I Supply Company, Maines Paper and Food Service, McCabe’s Quality Foods, MBM Food Service, PDS (Personalized Distribution Systems), PFG (Performance Food Group), Shamrock Foods, Sygma Foodservice, SYSCO Foods, Upper Lakes Foods, and Willow Run Foods.
